Warranty Policy
Last updated 9 September 2026
1. The short version
We supply and we fit, so there is nobody to argue with.
On most sites you buy a motor from one company and pay another to install it, and when something fails each blames the other while your gate stays broken. Because we do both, a fault is ours either way.
Your warranty terms are written on your invoice at handover. Keep it, or just call us, because we hold the record too.
2. Equipment warranty
Everything we sell is genuine stock bought through proper channels and carries the manufacturer's warranty. That covers manufacturing defects and premature failure of the unit itself.
We handle the claim for you. You do not deal with BFT in Italy or CAME's regional office. You deal with the shop in Al Khuwair, and we take it from there.
3. Our installation work
Separately from the equipment, we warrant the work itself. That covers the mounting, the wiring, the cable runs, the rack alignment and the commissioning settings.
If a gate we installed develops a fault caused by how it was installed, we come back and correct it at no charge to you.
4. Warranty periods
- Gate operators and control boards twelve months from installation, or the manufacturer's period where it is longer
- Photocells, beacons and accessories twelve months
- Remote handsets six months, excluding batteries
- Our installation labour six months from handover
- Repair work and replacement parts three months on the specific repair carried out
Where a manufacturer offers longer than the periods above, you get the longer one. We never shorten what the maker provides.
5. What is not covered
Written plainly, so there are no surprises on the day something breaks.
- Consumables. Remote batteries, bulbs and fuses
- Damage from impact. A vehicle reversing into a barrier arm or a photocell
- Power surges and lightning. These destroy control boards and are not a manufacturing fault
- Water damage where the unit was not specified for it, or where a pit has flooded because it was never drained
- Work by somebody else. If another person has opened, rewired or adjusted the unit after we left
- The gate structure itself, unless we supplied it. Worn rollers, a dropped leaf and a bent track are wear on the gate, not a fault in the motor
- Neglect. A sliding gate track packed with sand for two years will destroy any motor fitted to it
- Misuse. Forcing the gate, disabling the safety devices, or running a residential operator on a compound gate cycling two hundred times a day
6. Heat, dust and duty
Worth saying openly, because it is the single most common cause of failure in Oman and most warranty disputes here come down to it.
A control board sitting in a sealed casing in direct sun through an Omani summer is working in conditions no European test bench simulates. Blown sand in a sliding gate track raises the load on the motor, which raises its temperature, which shortens the life of the board.
None of that is a manufacturing defect, so it is not a warranty claim. What it is, is avoidable. We specify operators with real headroom over the gate weight as standard rather than as an upgrade, and we tell you at handover to keep the track clear and have the gate serviced twice a year rather than once.
Follow that and the warranty rarely gets used at all, which is the outcome we are actually after.
7. How to make a claim
- Message us a photograph of the model plate on the unit, and tell us what the gate is doing. WhatsApp is fastest.
- We identify the likely fault, often without travelling, and confirm whether it falls under warranty.
- If it does, we repair or replace at no charge to you, and we bring the part rather than making two visits.
- If it does not, we tell you why and quote the repair before doing anything. You are free to say no.
We will not carry out chargeable work under the pretence of a warranty visit, and we will not refuse a genuine claim by hunting for a technicality. Both are ways of losing a customer for the price of one gate motor.
8. Equipment we did not supply
We repair and service brands we do not sell, including units bought elsewhere and units with the label long since burnt off. Our labour warranty applies to work we carry out on them.
The equipment warranty in that case stays between you and whoever sold it to you. If we can tell you the claim is worth pursuing with them, we will, even though it means we do not get the sale.
