Somfy RTS remote in Oman: what it pairs with and what it does not
RTS stands for Radio Technology Somfy. It transmits on 433.42 MHz with a rolling code, so each press sends a different signal. Somfy io homecontrol is a separate system on 868 to 870 MHz, and the two cannot talk to each other.
BFT, Nice and Came each use their own coding as well. A handset from one brand cannot pair with a receiver from another, even when the frequency looks close.

Somfy Keytis or Keygo: choosing between the genuine handsets
All three RTS handsets in this range run on a CR2430 battery apart from the Telis, whose battery type the supplier does not state. The practical differences are buttons, form and pairing.
- The Keytis 2 has two buttons and a flashing LED, for one gate and one garage.
- The Keygo 4 has four buttons and a metal ring for a key bunch.
- The Keytis 4 has four buttons, a battery and four colour clips in the box, and it is a secondary remote.
- The Telis 1 has three buttons and is taught directly to the receiver, at a higher price.
The prices of the Keytis 2, Keygo 4 and Keytis 4 are only OMR 1.000 or OMR 2.000 apart, so choose by buttons and how you carry it.
Main and secondary Somfy remote controls: what you need to bring
Somfy lists the Keytis 4 RTS as a secondary remote, which means it is paired through a handset that already works. If you have a working Somfy RTS handset, bring it with you. If you have lost every handset, tell us the motor model and we will say how the board is programmed, and which handset to start from.
The other handsets here are taught directly to the receiver, normally with the receiver’s own programming button. Our engineers do the pairing in the shop or on site.
Compatible Somfy remote or a genuine Somfy remote control
The Somfy compatible remote control costs OMR 6.000 and is listed for Somfy sliding gate motors, swing gate motors, garage motors and gate barriers. It is not made by Somfy, and the supplier does not publish its frequency, buttons or battery. We confirm all of those before we sell it.
A compatible handset suits a cheap spare for a gate you know well. A genuine Somfy handset has published specifications, so it is the safer choice for a new installation or an unknown receiver.

Battery, range and heat for Somfy remote controls in Oman
None of these listings publishes a radio range, so we do not quote one. Walls, a metal gate leaf, a parked car and other radio noise all cut range, so the position of the receiver aerial matters more than the handset.
A handset left on a car dashboard in summer sees far more heat than it was designed for, and the battery loses life faster. Keep it on a key bunch, a visor clip or in a bag, not in direct sun. Weak range or a button that works only sometimes usually means a tired battery, so replace the cell first.
