Somfy RTS or io gate remote: the choice before the model

Every Somfy sliding gate motor uses one of two radio systems, and they never mix. RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz. The io homecontrol system on the Elixo Smart io transmits on 868 to 870 MHz and uses two way handsets that report back from the gate.

A cloning remote cannot copy either Somfy system, because both change their code on every press. Moving a site to Somfy means new handsets, so tell us how many people use the gate.

Somfy motor type and the control board that follows it

The Somfy sliding gate motor name covers motors with different electrics, and the board follows the motor, not the name.

The Somfy Elixo control board fits the 230V Elixo 500 and Elixo 800 only. A board built for one voltage will not run a motor built for the other, so read the motor plate before you order.

A compound with cars queued at a closed gate is a real problem during an outage. Of the Somfy sliding gate motor range, the Elixo Smart io states battery backup support. The Elixo 500, 800 and 2000 pages do not, so we confirm with Somfy before promising it. Without a battery, you release the gate by key and push it by hand, which is hard on a heavy leaf.

What is the difference between Somfy RTS and io homecontrol?
