Swing gate openers and motors for single and double leaf gates
We stock articulated-arm and ram swing gate openers for leaves up to 2.5 m wide, supplied from our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat and installed anywhere in Oman by our own engineers. An automatic swing gate opener suits narrower plots where there is no room for a gate to slide back along the wall. Articulated arms handle deep pillars; ram operators suit slim pillars and shorter leaves.
Choosing a swing gate motor
Leaf width matters more on swing gates than on sliding gates, because a long leaf multiplies the load at the arm. A 2.5 m leaf at 200 kg puts more strain on the motor than a 1.5 m leaf at 300 kg. Measure the leaf width first, then the weight.

Encoder-controlled soft stop matters more on swing gates than sliding ones. A leaf that slams on closing will loosen its hinges within a year, and the pillar takes the punishment after that.
Articulated arm or ram?
Choose an articulated arm where the pillar is deep, or where the hinge sits well back from the pillar face. The arm folds to reach the leaf, so the geometry is forgiving.
Choose a ram operator where pillars are slim and the leaf is under 2.5 m. Rams are neater, quieter and cheaper, but they need the hinge close to the pillar face to work correctly.
If neither fits your opening, we will say so at the survey rather than force a motor onto geometry that will fight it.

Installation across Oman
A double swing gate takes most of a day to install, since each leaf needs its own operator, arm geometry set individually, and the two motors sequenced so they close in the correct order. We survey the site, check the hinge positions and power run, then mount the operators, set limits and force, fit photocells and pair the remotes.
Ambient temperatures above 45 °C derate every motor on the market, so we specify one class up on exposed installations and shade the control box where the site allows. Delivery and installation cover Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Salalah, Sur and Duqm.
Common questions
How much does a swing gate opener cost in Oman?
Single-leaf openers start at OMR 170. A double gate needs two operators. Installation is quoted separately after a free site survey.
Do I need one motor or two for a double gate?
Two — one per leaf, wired to a single control board and remote. A double swing gate opener kit includes both.
Will a swing gate opener work during a power cut?
Most models accept a battery backup kit. All have a manual release key so the leaves can be moved by hand.
My gate does not close fully. What causes that?
Usually a dirty photocell lens, a limit setting that has drifted, or a hinge that has dropped. All three are common in Oman’s dust and all three are quick to fix.
