U Bracket for Glass Door in Oman

Description

A U bracket clamps over the top edge of a frameless glass door and carries the armature plate. It saves drilling the glass, which is not something you can do on site. We stock the U bracket for glass door installs in Oman at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat.

When you need a U bracket

Frameless glass doors have nothing to screw into. The magnet fixes to the frame head above, but the plate has no fixing point on the leaf itself.

The U bracket solves that. It slides over the glass edge and clamps, holding the plate in the right position without touching the glass surface.

What’s included

The bracket and its clamping hardware. Pads or gaskets are normally supplied to protect the glass face. The magnetic lock and its armature plate are sold separately.

Fitting the bracket to a glass door

Slide the bracket over the top edge of the leaf and position it under the magnet. Tighten evenly on both sides, because uneven pressure is what cracks glass.

Check the plate sits flat against the magnet face before final tightening. Adjust the bracket position rather than forcing the plate.

Common questions

Which magnetic lock does it fit?
Send us your lock model and we will confirm before you order. Bracket sizes follow the lock body, so they are not all interchangeable.

Do I have to drill the glass?
No. That is the whole point of a U bracket. Drilled or notched glass has to be ordered cut, not modified afterwards.

Does it fit any glass thickness?
Within a range. Tell us the leaf thickness, usually 10 or 12 mm on office doors, and we will check the fit.

Do I need one or two?
One per magnet. A double door lock needs two.
