Check your motor before you buy this rolling shutter remote receiver

This unit switches a single phase 220V AC shutter motor and nothing else. If your shutter runs on a three phase motor with a contactor panel, or on a low voltage DC tubular motor, this receiver will not drive it.

That matters in Oman more than most markets. Three phase side motors are the normal fit on larger shopfronts, warehouse roller doors and workshop entrances, and a lot of domestic shutters use DC tubular motors instead. Read the rating plate on the motor before ordering. Send us a photo of it and we will confirm the match in writing.

The contacts are rated 220V at 10A. That covers the great majority of single phase side motors and central motors in the smaller weight classes. If your motor draws close to 10A, tell us and we will quote a contactor stage instead.

What a 220V AC rolling shutter receiver actually does

It gives you open, stop and close from a handheld remote without taking away the wall switch. The receiver wires in between the supply and the motor and repeats the same three commands your existing button box sends. Manual control stays live, so a flat remote battery never leaves a shop unable to open.

It is a control add on, not a motor and not a safety device. It does not set limits, it does not sense an obstacle and it holds no battery backup. If the motor itself is the part you need, the full range sits in rolling shutter door motors.

315 MHz or 433.92 MHz, get the rolling shutter receiver frequency right

The source listing shows two frequencies, and that is misleading. A receiver of this type is supplied fixed on one frequency. A 433.92 MHz board will never learn a 315 MHz transmitter, no matter how many times the learn button is pressed.

There is a second split underneath it. Fixed code transmitters and rolling code transmitters are not interchangeable either, so a remote that looks identical can still fail to pair. The safe route is to buy the receiver together with matched transmitters from our remote controls range. If you want to keep the remotes you already own, message us the code printed on the back of one before you order.

Fit it inside, close to the motor, and never on an exposed wall. No weather rating is published for this enclosure, and an unrated box on a shopfront in Muscat or Sohar will take dust and driven rain within a season. Inside the shutter box, inside the shop, or inside a separate rated enclosure are all acceptable.

The supply must be isolated at the board before the cover comes off, and the work should be done by a qualified electrician. Our own engineers fit these across Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur, Salalah and Duqm, and a fitting visit can be added when you order.

Pairing is done with the learn button on the board. Press once, then press a button on the transmitter within a few seconds. Repeat for each additional remote.

You receive the receiver unit only. Remote transmitters, mounting screws, cable and any enclosure gland are not confirmed as included by the supplier, so plan on buying transmitters separately unless we confirm otherwise on your order. Related fixings and hardware sit in accessories.

Where a roller shutter receiver earns its place

Retail shopfronts where staff open at dawn, warehouse and workshop doors where the switch is on the wrong side of the opening, garages where a driver would rather not leave the car, and offices with a showroom entrance. Anywhere the walk to the button box is the annoying part, this fixes it for a small outlay.

Where several people need separate, revocable access rather than shared remotes, a card or code system is the better answer. Look at access control systems instead.

Will this rolling shutter remote receiver work with a three phase shutter motor?
No. It is built for single phase 220V AC motors only. A three phase motor needs a contactor panel and a different control stage, which we supply separately.

Is the receiver 315 MHz or 433.92 MHz?
It is supplied fixed on one of the two, not both. Tell us the frequency of your existing remotes when you order, or buy matched transmitters with it.

Are remote controls included?
Not confirmed, so assume not. Budget for at least two transmitters on the same frequency and code type as the receiver.

Can I still use the wall switch after fitting?
Yes. Manual control stays fully working alongside the remote, which is why we recommend keeping the button box in place rather than removing it.

Can the receiver be mounted outside?
No. There is no published IP rating, so it must go indoors or inside a separately rated weatherproof enclosure.
