The BFT KUSTOS Ultra BT A40 is a 24V swing gate motor for gates up to 500 kg and 4 metres per leaf, sharing its core mechanics with the standard KUSTOS BT A40. The real difference is not strength or speed, it is what “Ultra” is built to accept.

Ultra models in this range are built to support battery backup, so the gate can still open during a power cut. That capability is not automatic, though. The battery pack itself is a separate purchase, and without one, this motor behaves exactly like the standard KUSTOS in an outage.

The published mechanical specification, weight rating, stroke, opening angle, cycle time and power draw, is essentially identical between the two. Ultra’s distinction is battery backup readiness, not extra strength.

The fully enclosed worm screw protects the drive from dust and grit and protects anyone standing near it while the gate runs, an important feature on a gate cycling intensively through the day. The magnetic limit switch and adjustable mechanical stops define the open and closed positions without needing a separate floor stop, which is one less fitting to trip over or corrode into the driveway.
