Description

The CAME KRONO KR310D, CAME code 001KR310D, is an irreversible right hand 230V swing gate motor with opening and closing limit switch microswitches, for gates with leaves up to 3 metres long and 400 kg. It draws 240 W and 1.1 A, gives 400 to 3000 N of thrust and opens to 90 degrees in 22 seconds. CAME rates it for up to 16 cycles an hour, with an IP54 rating.

Two points come first. The D is the right hand motor, and a double gate may also need the left hand KR310S, so we confirm what your price covers. And CAME does not publish a clear opening angle table, so we measure your pillars before we quote.

A standard double gate kit from our supplier includes two motors, a control board, two TOP 432EE remotes, a receiver, Bluebus photocells, a flashing light, two brackets and a push button. We confirm the exact contents of the KR310D set, and whether it has one right hand and one left hand motor, before you pay.

3 m leaves and 400 kg: is the CAME KRONO KR310D right for your gate

CAME’s limits table pairs a 3 metre leaf with 400 kg, a 2.5 metre leaf with 600 kg and a 2 metre leaf with 800 kg. A shorter leaf can carry more, because it puts less leverage on the arm. We confirm that the limit applies to each leaf, and we ask for the weight and the length of each leaf.

For leaves up to 5 m, CAME makes the KR510 version at 400 kg. We quote it if your gate is longer.

Right hand KR310D and left hand KR310S: which side does each leaf need

A swing gate motor is built for one side. CAME sells the right hand KR310D and the left hand KR310S, and the handedness depends on which way the leaf hinges, seen from the pillar. A double gate usually has a leaf of each hand.

Limit switch microswitches on the KR310D

CAME fits opening and closing limit switch microswitches to the KR310D. They tell the board when the leaf has reached each end, so the motor stops without relying on a timer. Our other CAME KRONO page, the KR300D, has no limit switch microswitch, so this is the version to choose if you want the end positions set by the motor itself.

The gearmotor is also irreversible, so the leaf stays shut when the motor stops. A tall, solid or wind exposed leaf may still benefit from an electric lock, and we confirm that at the survey. CAME lists a lock cylinder with a DIN key, code 001KR001, as an unlocking accessory.

240 W, 22 seconds and 16 cycles an hour on the CAME KRONO KR310D

The motor runs from a 230V, 50 or 60 Hz supply, drawing 240 W and 1.1 A. The thrust is listed as 400 to 3000 N, a range that the control board sets for your gate. The opening time to 90 degrees is 22 seconds, and the duty is 16 cycles an hour, about one full open and close every four minutes.

Pillar depth, hinge position and opening angle for the KRONO

An arm mounted motor needs clear depth from the hinge to the inside face of the pillar, so the arm can travel through its stroke. CAME’s dimension and opening angle tables are not clear in the data we have, so we cannot check your pillars against a number from the page. We measure on site and ask CAME for the figures.

Send photos of both pillars with a tape across the depth, and we confirm the fit before you order.

CAME KRONO KR310D, KR300D or KR510D: which version do you need

CAME sells the KRONO in several versions, and we list more than one. The table shows only what CAME and its sellers publish.

Choose the KR310D for a standard 3 m leaf with end of travel microswitches. Choose the KR510D if your leaf is longer. Ask us to compare them for your gate.

CAME control panel, CONNECT and safety for the KR310D

CAME suggests the 002ZA3P control panel for the KRONO. It also describes CONNECT remote control through a gateway or the CAME KEY, a CXN BUS two wire connection and a snap in card slot for the RIO System 2.0. We confirm the panel for your gate.

The supplier’s kit includes the CAME TOP432EE remotes and Bluebus photocells. A CAME receiver pairs only with CAME handsets, so Somfy, BFT and Nice remotes cannot pair with it. Photocells stop the gate closing on a car or a person, and a flashing light warns people before it moves. A safety edge is worth adding where a leaf closes toward a wall or a footpath.

230V only: the CAME KRONO KR310D and power cuts

CAME lists this motor as a 230V gearmotor only. It runs on mains power, and a power cut leaves the leaf where it stopped, held by the irreversible gearmotor. We release it with the manual release and keep the key where you can reach it. If a battery backup matters to you, ask us, and we point you to a 24V swing motor.

IP54, heat and sand: the CAME KRONO KR310D in Oman

IP54 protects against dust and splashing water, which is a better rating than IP44 on some other swing kits. The motor works from minus 20 to plus 55°C, and has thermal protection at 150°C. We mount it clear of standing water, in shade where we can, and we seal the cable entries. Coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah add salt, which attacks pivots first, so keep the hinges greased.
