Plastic Exit Button in Oman | White PC Panel Door Release
A push to exit button with a moulded PC panel instead of steel. It gives the same NO, NC and COM dry contacts and needs no power. The panel carries no current, which suits electrical and plant rooms. On a busy public door we would fit stainless instead. In stock in Muscat.
Description
A plastic exit button releases the door from inside, the same as a metal one. The panel is moulded from fire retardant PC rather than pressed steel. We stock the plastic exit button in Oman at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat.
Plastic exit button or stainless steel
Be honest about the door. On a busy public door, steel takes the wear better and keeps looking clean for longer.
Plastic earns its place where the panel must not conduct. It also suits a white finish, or a hollow partition where weight matters.
Where a plastic exit button suits the job
Electrical rooms, plant cupboards and any door beside exposed terminals. A moulded panel carries no current.
It also suits light partition walls and stud doors. There is less mass pulling on the fixings over the years.
What a plastic exit button is made of
The panel is normally fire retardant polycarbonate rather than ordinary plastic. That matters on a door in an escape corridor.
Ask us to confirm the grade if your specification calls for it. Not every moulded button uses the same material.
Wiring a plastic exit button
The contacts are the same as the metal versions, marked NO, NC and COM. Nothing on the button side needs power.
Wire NC in series for a magnetic lock. Take NO to the exit input on a controller.
What’s included
The button, panel and fixing screws. Cabling, any back box and the lock itself are separate.
Common questions
Why choose plastic over stainless steel?
For electrical safety, a white finish, or light doors. On a busy public door we would fit steel instead.
Will it discolour over time?
Plastic panels do mark and yellow eventually, particularly in strong sunlight. Steel does not.
Is plastic better near electrics?
Yes. A moulded panel cannot conduct, which is why plant rooms often specify it.
Will it stand up to a public door?
It will work, but the panel will show its age. Choose steel where hundreds of people pass daily.
