RFID Thick Card in Oman

Description

The RFID thick card is a 125 kHz proximity credential for access control readers. It reads on any 125 kHz EM reader and will not work on a 13.56 MHz Mifare system. We stock the RFID thick card in Oman at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat.

What you get

The price shown is per card. Lanyards, card holders and card printing are not included. Readers, controllers and door hardware are quoted separately.

Adding the RFID thick card to your system

A new card does nothing until it is enrolled on your controller. On a standalone 125 kHz unit, you enter programming mode with the master card, then present the new card once. On a system with management software, the card number is added to the user record instead.

Common questions

Will it work with the reader I already have?
Only if that reader is 125 kHz. A 13.56 MHz Mifare or NFC reader will not detect this card at all.

Why choose a thick card over a thin one?
The thick format carries a larger antenna coil. It generally reads at a greater distance than a thin ISO card. Thin cards suit printed staff badges instead.

Can I buy just one?
Yes. The price is per card and stock is held in Muscat, so single replacements are no problem.

A staff member lost their card. What do I do?
Enrol a replacement, then delete the lost card from the controller. If you skip the second step, the lost card still opens the door.
