A central rolling shutter motor rated at 420 Nm, lifting a curtain of around 250 kg on a standard barrel. It fits inside the roller tube, so nothing shows on the shopfront. The step up from our 260Nm motor costs little and gives a lot more capacity, so take this one if your curtain is anywhere near 210 kg. This is a shutter motor and does not fit a gate. Description
The ACM 420Nm rolling shutter motor is the larger of our two ACM central motors. It sits inside the roller tube and lifts a curtain of around 250 kg. We stock the ACM 420Nm rolling shutter motor in Oman at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat.
Worth stepping up from the 260Nm
The price gap between our two central motors is small. The torque gap is not, and torque is what does the lifting.
Take the larger motor if the curtain weight is anywhere near the limit. A motor working inside its range lasts longer than one at full stretch.
Matching torque to your shutter
Weigh or estimate the curtain first. Slat gauge, width and drop all change the answer, so a guess from the opening size alone is not enough.
Then check the barrel. The same torque lifts less on a larger tube, so send us both figures.
Where a 420Nm shutter motor is used
Wider shopfronts, workshop openings and warehouse doors. Curtains that a smaller motor would strain against.
It also suits a shutter that runs many times a day. Spare capacity shows up as fewer callouts over the years. Where servicing access matters more than tidiness, consider the TITANSIDE 600 at the same price.
Speed and torque on a shutter motor
More torque does not mean more speed. Shutter motors run at a set rate, and the bigger unit simply works less hard.
That matters on a wide curtain. A strained motor gets hot, and heat is what kills shutter motors in Oman.
Fitting the ACM 420Nm rolling shutter motor
The motor slides into the tube and locks against the end plates. Check the tube wall is sound before you commit to the larger unit.
Set the down limit with the curtain closed, then the up limit. Test the manual override before you close the box.

Should I take this over the 260Nm version?
If the curtain is near 210 kg, yes. The price difference is small next to the extra capacity.
My curtain is between the two sizes. Which one?
The larger. Motors run cool inside their range and hot at the top of it.
Is it faster than the smaller motor?
No. It runs at a similar speed and simply works less hard doing it.
Do I need a stronger tube?
Possibly, on a wide opening. Send us the tube size and the span and we will check.
