The CAME FAST FA70230, CAME code 001FA70230, is a 230V irreversible swing gate motor with a hinged transmission arm, for light leaves up to 2.3 metres long and 200 kg. It draws 160 W and 1.4 A, opens to 90 degrees in 15 seconds and carries a 30% duty rating and an IP54 rating. It has built in thermal motor protection.

2.3 m leaves and 200 kg: is the CAME FAST FA70230 right for your gate

The supplier rates the motor for a leaf up to 2.3 metres and 200 kg. That suits a light aluminium or slatted gate, a garden gate or a short driveway gate. It does not suit a heavy solid steel leaf or a wide villa leaf.

We ask for the weight and the length of each leaf, and we allow for wind on solid sheet.

Hinged transmission arm: pillar offset and fitting the FAST FA70230

The motor pushes the leaf through a hinged transmission arm. The supplier gives a maximum C size of 200 mm, which is the offset between the pillar face and the hinge line. A gate with a larger offset needs a different motor, and a gate with a smaller one needs the bracket in the right place.

Send photos of both pillars with a tape across the offset and the depth, and we confirm the fit before you order.

230V, 160 W, 30% duty and a 15 second opening

The motor runs straight from a 230V, 50 or 60 Hz supply, drawing 160 W and 1.4 A. The opening time to 90 degrees is 15 seconds. The duty rating is 30%, so the motor can run about a third of the time, with rest between cycles. The supplier gives no thrust figure.

Irreversible gearmotor and thermal protection

An irreversible gearmotor cannot be pushed back from outside, so the leaf stays shut when the motor stops. In many cases a closed gate does not need a separate lock. The motor also has built in thermal protection, which cuts power if it overheats. The supplier lists 150°C and does not say whether that is a cut out or a rating, so we confirm it.

In a power cut the leaf is released with the manual release, so keep the key where you can reach it. A tall or wind exposed leaf may still benefit from an electric lock, which we quote where it is needed.

This is a 230V mains motor, and the supplier shows no battery backup. A power cut leaves the leaf where it stopped, held by the irreversible gearmotor.
