The CAME BXV06AGS is a 24 V sliding gate motor kit for villas and for commercial and light industrial gates up to 600 kg and 18 m long. It pushes with 600 N, moves the gate at 12 metres a minute, draws up to 270 W from a 230 V supply and has a module 4 pinion. The kit comes with a four channel remote, a pair of DIR10 photocells, an LED flashing light, a radio card, a push button and four nylon racks.

Two points come first. The kit includes one remote, so a household or a site needs extras. And a gate at the 600 kg limit needs a steel rack, not the nylon racks in the kit.

600 kg sliding gate motor in Oman: which CAME motor for which gate

Choose the motor by the weight of the moving leaf, with a margin. A motor that runs near its limit all day wears out early.

If your gate weighs close to a limit, step up to the next motor. The gate must also roll freely by hand before any motor drives it.

CAME BXV series: BXV04AGS or BXV06AGS

The BXV series share a 24 V motor, an AF43S radio card, IP54 and a grey housing. The differences are weight, length, power and thrust.

The BXV06AGS has far more thrust for OMR 28 more, though it ships with one remote. The BXV08AGS and the BXV 1000 kg sit above it in the same series.

24 V motor, 270 W and 600 N: what the figures mean

The motor runs at 24 V, fed from a 230 V, 50 or 60 Hz mains supply through the control board. It draws up to 270 W and pushes with 600 N of thrust, nearly double the BXV04AGS. The speed is 12 metres a minute, so a gate that opens 6 metres takes about 30 seconds.

The listing does not state whether the motor is AC or DC, or the current, so we confirm both before the electrician sizes the supply.

Nylon or steel rack for a 600 kg sliding gate

The kit includes four nylon racks, and the listing gives the pinion as module 4. The listing does not give the length of the racks, so we confirm the total run. The rack must run along the whole leaf, so a gate listed up to 18 m needs a large run, joined in line and fixed straight.

At 600 kg, nylon rack is at the edge of what it is usually rated for. A gate at the limit, or one that runs often, should run on steel. We confirm the rating of the racks in the kit and quote the steel option.

CAME lists the motor for intensive use and for residential, commercial and light industrial gates, with no duty number. We ask CAME for the rating before we recommend it for a gate that runs all day.

Obstacle detection, DIR10 photocells and the LED flasher

The motor has integrated obstacle detection, a pair of DIR10 outdoor photocells and an LED flashing light in the kit. Obstacle detection stops the gate on contact. The photocells stop it before contact, and the flasher warns people that the gate is about to move. A safety edge is worth adding on a gate that closes toward a wall or a footpath.

433.92 MHz radio and the single remote in the kit

The listing gives the radio as 433.92 MHz, with an AF43S radio card and a four channel rolling code remote. The remote memory is not stated. A CAME TOP handset pairs with it. Somfy, BFT and Nice remotes cannot pair, because each brand uses its own coding.
