BFT ALPHA BOM Control Board Oman, Moovi Barrier Board
The BFT ALPHA BOM is the control board for BFT Moovi 30 and Moovi 60 gate barriers. The manufacturer publishes very little beyond compatible operators, so we confirm voltage, safety inputs and obstacle detection against the physical unit before fitting. Supplied and fitted across Oman by Doors Auto.
Description
The BFT ALPHA BOM is the control board for BFT Moovi 30 and Moovi 60 gate barriers. It replaces the electronics inside a barrier operator, not a swing or sliding gate motor, and it is built to serve two genuinely different sized barriers from one board.
Two things matter before you order. The manufacturer publishes almost nothing about this board beyond which barriers it fits, and a barrier boom swings through vehicle and pedestrian space, so unverified safety inputs are not something we will fit blind. Both are covered in full below.
BFT Moovi 30 or Moovi 60: why one board covers two different barriers
The ALPHA BOM drives both because the two barriers sit either side of the same electronic control problem, raising and lowering a boom safely, at two different scales.
| Moovi 30 | Moovi 60 | |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum boom width | 3 metres | Approximately 5.8 metres |
| Motor voltage, as published | 110V, likely a market specific variant | 230V |
| Opening time | 4 seconds | 8 seconds |
Moovi 30 suits a narrow compound entrance or a single vehicle lane. Moovi 60 suits a wider entrance, a boom crossing two lanes, or a site wanting one barrier rather than two. The 110V figure for Moovi 30 comes from a US market listing, and Omani stock is almost certainly the 230V version sold alongside Moovi 60, so confirm the exact voltage on the unit before wiring.
The board itself does not change between the two barriers. What changes is the motor it drives and the boom length the installation is set up for, both outside the board’s own specification.
BFT Moovi control board: why a barrier boom needs verified safety inputs
A swing gate closing on a private driveway and a boom swinging across a compound entrance are not the same hazard. A swing gate mostly meets nobody. A barrier boom sits exactly where vehicles and pedestrians expect to pass, often at a staffed entrance, a mall car park, or a compound gatehouse where people walk past the boom while it operates.
That difference is why we will not fit an ALPHA BOM on the strength of a spec sheet that says nothing about safety edges or photocells. Before installation, we open the unit and confirm whether it carries a resistive safety edge input, a photocell input, and genuine obstacle reaction, then we test whatever we find under load with the boom moving. If the board genuinely lacks a safety input the site needs, we say so and quote an external safety relay or a different board rather than leave a gap.
This matters more on an exposed compound entrance than it does inside a garden gate, and it is the one place on this page where we will not fill a blank with an assumption.
Why a Moovi barrier fails before the boom does
Barrier gearboxes are mechanically simple, a motor, a gearbox and a counterbalance spring that holds the boom’s weight, and they generally outlast the electronics. A barrier that hums without lifting, raises but will not lower, drifts down on its own, or has stopped learning remotes is very often this board rather than a worn gearbox.
A drifting boom is worth mentioning on its own. If the boom slowly lowers itself with the motor off, that is usually the counterbalance spring losing tension over years of cycling, not the board, and it needs a mechanical adjustment rather than a new control unit. Send us a photo of the existing board and its printed code, and tell us whether the fault is electrical or the boom simply will not hold its position, and we will tell you which part actually needs replacing before you spend on either.

An exposed barrier board in the Omani climate
A boom barrier usually sits in the open at a compound entrance or a car park, not tucked inside a swing gate’s box or under a canopy the way many of the swing motor boards on this site are. That means more direct sun, more dust blown across an open entrance, and in coastal areas more salt in the air reaching the enclosure.
Without a confirmed IP rating for this board, we treat the housing seal and cable entry as our own responsibility rather than the manufacturer’s stated spec. On coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah we check the enclosure gasket and drainage on every barrier visit, since a housing that traps damp salt air fails an electronic board faster than heat alone ever does. Inland at Nizwa and Duqm, blown dust through an unsealed cable gland is the more common cause of an intermittent fault.
Fitting a BFT barrier control board is electrician work
This is a bare mains board driving a barrier boom in a public or semi public space. Mains, the motor feed, photocells and any safety edge land on terminal blocks that must match the old wiring exactly, and getting one wrong on a barrier is a different order of risk than on a garden gate. We test obstacle reaction and any confirmed safety input under load, with the boom actually moving, before handing the barrier back, and we do not fit a board with unverified safety inputs on a barrier used by vehicles or pedestrians.
What is included, and what is not

Not included: enclosure, photocells, safety edge sensor, remotes and mains cabling. These come from accessories, handsets from BFT remotes. See the full gate barriers range if you are replacing the barrier itself rather than the board.
BFT barrier repair and control board supply across Oman
We stock BFT barrier boards alongside our swing and sliding gate boards, including the ALENA SW2 and HAMAL ranges, and we verify safety inputs on every barrier repair rather than assume a spec sheet is complete. We cover all eleven governorates: Muscat, Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South, Ad Dakhiliyah, Ash Sharqiyah North, Ash Sharqiyah South, Adh Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, Al Wusta, Dhofar and Musandam.

BFT ALPHA BOM FAQ
Does the ALPHA BOM have safety edge and photocell inputs?
The manufacturer does not publish this, so we confirm on the physical unit before fitting. We will not install an unverified safety configuration on a barrier used by vehicles or pedestrians.
Which BFT barriers use the ALPHA BOM?
BFT Moovi 30, for booms up to 3 metres, and Moovi 60, for booms up to about 5.8 metres. Confirm your exact barrier model before ordering.
My Moovi barrier boom drifts down on its own. Is that the board?
Usually not. A boom that slowly lowers with the motor off is generally the counterbalance spring losing tension, a mechanical adjustment rather than an electronic fault. A barrier that hums or will not lift at all is more likely the board.
What is the BFT ALPHA BOM price in Oman?
OMR 83.000. In stock, with fitting quoted separately once we have confirmed the safety inputs on the unit.
Do you fit BFT barrier control boards across Oman?
Yes, in all eleven governorates, with our engineers based in Al Khuwair, Muscat.
