Description

The BFT nylon rack, model CP D221073, is a module 4 gear rack sold in 1 metre lengths, rated to 600 kg. It runs quieter than the equivalent steel rack and suits lighter BFT sliding gate motors such as DEIMOS.

Rack still has to cover the full leaf length, not the opening width. A 6 metre leaf needs 6 metres of rack, six pieces, regardless of the gap it closes.

A 600 kg cap rules nylon out under BFT’s ARES A1000 or A1500 motors, whatever the motor itself can lift. Use steel there. A villa gate on DEIMOS BT A400 or A600 sits comfortably under 600 kg and suits nylon well.

The adjustable slots make height and gap adjustment against the pinion straightforward, and getting that gap right matters as much as on steel, since a rack riding too tight or too loose wears the gearbox regardless of material. Nylon avoids the corrosion steel needs watching for on coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah, though inland dust in Nizwa and Duqm still packs into the teeth the same as steel and needs brushing off periodically.
