CAME 803XA-0020 LED Boom Strip Oman, Red and Green for 4 m GARD Boom

Description

The CAME 803XA-0020 is a red and green LED light strip for the 4 m boom of the CAME GARD 4 road barrier. It is 400 cm long, draws 6 W, and runs the full length of the boom, so drivers can see the boom at night and know when to stop and when to go.

It is listed for the CAME 803XA-0050 and 803XA-0051 booms. Check the code or the length of your boom before you order.

Why fit a barrier boom LED strip?

A barrier boom is thin and, in the dark, hard to see. Most barrier damage happens when a driver does not see the boom or does not know whether it is about to move. A light strip along the full boom solves both problems.

For car parks, compounds, hotels, hospitals and gated communities that work after dark, boom lights are one of the cheapest ways to protect the barrier and the cars that pass it.

Red and green barrier lights: how the strip works

The strip sits along the boom and is wired back to the barrier cabinet, where the control board switches it. Red tells drivers to stop. Green shows the way is clear. How the colours follow the boom depends on the board and its settings, so our engineers set this when they connect the strip.

At 6 W, the strip draws very little power, so leaving it lit all night costs almost nothing.

CAME barrier installation Muscat: how we fit the strip

We isolate the power and take the load off the boom. We fit the strip along the full length of the boom and route the cable back to the cabinet so it cannot snag as the boom lifts. Then we connect it to the board, set the colours and run the barrier through full open and close cycles. Last, we check the balance of the boom, because any change to the boom can change how it balances on its springs.

If the boom has been bent by a vehicle, we tell you before we fit the strip, because a bent boom can crack the strip.

Sun, heat and dust: boom lights in Oman

A barrier boom in Oman sits in full sun all day. Heat and UV light age plastic, and fine dust settles on any surface that faces up. A few simple habits keep the strip bright.
