Somfy Ixengo JS 230V RTS Swing Gate Motor Oman, 300 kg Twin Kit

Description

The Somfy Ixengo JS is a 230V swing gate motor kit for double leaf gates up to 300 kg and 3 metres per leaf. It delivers 3000 N of force at about 18 mm per second, draws 280W at most, and opens a leaf to 90 degrees. It is designed for semi intensive use.

Two points come first. The opening is limited to 90 degrees, and the handsets speak Somfy RTS, which no BFT or Nice receiver will accept. Both are explained below.

Somfy Ixengo JS price in Oman, and what the kit includes

Price: OMR 190.000 for the twin kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

• Two Somfy Ixengo JS 230V RTS motors
• Two Somfy Keytis RTS two channel remote controls
• Photocell pair
• Flashing light
• Push button

The specification names the Somfy CB 230 RTS control board, but the kit list does not include it, so we confirm the board is in the box before we quote. Not included: a safety edge, hinge and bracket hardware, mains cabling and any electric lock.

Somfy swing gate motor 300kg: what per leaf means

The 300 kg and 3 metre ratings apply to each leaf, not to the whole gate. Two 3 metre leaves make a 6 metre opening, and each motor carries only its own leaf.

Treat every published rating as a ceiling. A leaf that is stiff on its hinges will not run better under any motor.

Somfy Ixengo JS vs JL: choose by leaf size, not by price

The Ixengo JL costs OMR 22 more and carries 100 kg and 1 metre more per leaf. If your gate sits near the JS limits, or you may add a heavier infill later, step up. Choose JS only when the leaves are comfortably under 300 kg and 3 metres.

Somfy swing gate 90 degree opening: what the limit means

The listing states a 90 degree opening. Many swing motors open wider, and that extra angle matters when a leaf must clear a wide vehicle or fold back against a wall.

Pillar depth also decides fit. An arm mounted motor needs clear depth from the hinge to the inside face of the pillar. The stroke is not published, so we send you a measuring list and confirm fit before you order.

3000 N of force and semi intensive use: how hard it can work

3000 N is about 305 kg of pushing force. That is generous for a 300 kg leaf and gives margin on a stiff hinge. The duty rating is the tighter limit. Semi intensive suits a villa or small compound that opens a moderate number of times a day.

A gate that cycles constantly through a shift needs an intensive duty motor. Compare our BFT swing gate motor range if that describes your entrance.

Somfy RTS remote: Keytis handsets and 128 channels

Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own rolling code. BFT Mitto handsets use 433.92 MHz, and Nice and Came use their own coding, so they cannot pair with this motor. The board remembers up to 128 channels.

The two Keytis handsets cover a small household. A compound needs more, so tell us how many people use the gate. The same RTS system runs our Somfy sliding gate motors, so one handset family covers both gate types.

Add on modules the Ixengo JS supports

The listing says the board works with photocells, GSM gate openers, RFID readers, keypads, intercoms, push buttons and key switches. Supported does not mean included. We confirm which modules we stock and what they cost before you plan around them.

Somfy Ixengo JS specification

Safety, wind and the Omani climate

The kit includes a photocell pair and a flashing light. A safety edge is not included and is worth adding where a leaf swings toward a footpath. We set the closing force and test obstacle reaction with the leaf moving, never on the bench.

IP54 covers splashing but not standing water, so we mount the actuators clear of pooling water. Coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah add salt, which attacks pivots first. A mains motor works close to its plus 55°C ceiling in an Omani summer, so shade helps. Battery backup is not stated, so we confirm it before we promise it in a power cut.

Somfy Ixengo JS FAQ

What is the difference between the Somfy Ixengo JS and JL?

JS covers 300 kg and 3 metres per leaf and opens to 90 degrees. JL covers 400 kg and 4 metres per leaf. Both use a 280W, 230V motor and Somfy RTS.

Can the Somfy Ixengo JS open a gate wider than 90 degrees?

No. The listing states a 90 degree opening. A gate that must swing wider needs a different motor, so we check before you order.

Will my BFT or Nice remote work with the Somfy Ixengo JS?

No. Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own coding, so BFT, Nice and Came handsets cannot pair with it. You need Somfy RTS handsets.

What is the Somfy Ixengo JS price in Oman?

OMR 190.000 for the twin kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

How heavily can I use the Somfy Ixengo JS?

It is designed for semi intensive use, so a moderate number of openings a day suits it. A gate that cycles constantly needs an intensive duty motor.

Do you fit Somfy swing gate motors in Muscat and across Oman?

Yes. Our engineers fit and programme Somfy motors in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur, Salalah, Duqm and across all eleven governorates.
