The Nice RUN2500I is an inverter sliding gate motor from the professional Nice RUN series, for gates up to 2500 kg. A built in inverter lets a three phase gate motor run from a normal 230V single phase supply, with speed you can set from 8.2 to 15.4 m per minute. That makes it a variable speed gate motor for the busiest heavy gates in Oman: warehouses, factories, logistics yards and large compounds, with Nice Solemyo solar power as an option.

It connects up to 15 devices on Nice BlueBUS, and works with the Nice Opera management system.

Why an inverter sliding gate motor?

A standard 230V motor runs at one speed and starts with a jolt. On a 2500 kg gate opening all day, that jolt wears the gate, the rack and the wheels. An inverter controls the motor electronically:

What comes with the RUN2500I

The rack is not included. A 2500 kg gate needs a heavy steel rack, which we supply and fit to suit the gate.

Variable speed gate motor: set it to the site

A variable speed gate motor can be tuned to each entrance. At a logistics yard, we set the top speed so trucks wait less. At a compound with children and cyclists, we set it lower. The slowdown at each end stays smooth whatever speed is chosen, which protects the end stops on a very heavy gate.

The temperature sensor also adapts the motor force and switches on self ventilation in the heat, so a three phase gate motor working all day in an Oman summer is protected from overheating.

Three phase gate motor without a three phase supply

Three phase motors run cooler and smoother under heavy load, which is why industrial gates use them. Many sites in Oman, though, only have single phase power at the gate. The inverter in the RUN2500I solves this: it takes the 230V single phase supply and drives a three phase gate motor from it, so there is no need to bring a three phase cable to the gate.

BlueBUS, Nice Solemyo and Nice Opera

Nice BlueBUS connects up to 15 safety, control and signalling devices on just two wires: photocells, keypads, key selectors and flashing lights. Extra photocells for a long gate are added without new cable runs.

Nice Solemyo is the Nice solar power system. The supplier lists the RUN2500I as Nice Solemyo compatible, which can suit a remote farm or desert site without mains power; we size the panel and battery to the gate and its use. The Nice Opera system adds central management for sites with several automated gates.

How we install the RUN2500I

• We check the gate first: wheels, track, top guides and end stops must carry 2500 kg safely.
• We cast a reinforced concrete base, level and in line with the gate, with conduits for the cables.
• We fix the motor and a heavy steel rack, with the pinion set just below the rack so the gate weight never rests on the motor.
• We fit the BlueBUS photocells, flashing light and push button on the two wire line.
• We set the speed, the slowdown and the force to suit the site, and test every photocell while the gate closes.
