Description
The Nice RB600 is the Robus 600 from Nice: a sliding gate motor for gates up to 600 kg and 8 m long, with the Nice RBA3 control unit built in, sold as a complete kit with two Nice FLO2RE remote controls, an OXI receiver, a pair of photocells, a push button and 4 m of nylon rack. It can also be fitted as a sliding gate motor with battery backup, using the Nice PS124.
It sits between the light Robus 400 and the heavy Robus 1000, and suits most villa gates in Oman.

The Robus 600 is quicker than the Robus 1000 and works harder than the Nice Robo 600: 40 cycles an hour on a gate up to 4 m, against 20 for the Robo.
The Nice RBA3 control unit
The Nice RBA3 control unit sits inside the motor and runs the whole gate. It has terminals for photocells, a key selector, safety edges and a flashing light, a 24V output for accessories, and a socket for the OXI receiver. The pause before automatic closing can be set from 5 to 180 seconds, and a master and slave function lets two motors run two opposing gate leaves together.
Because the Nice RBA3 control unit is inside the motor housing, there is no separate box on the wall, and the electronics stay out of the sun.
Nice FLO2RE remote and OXI receiver
Each Nice FLO2RE remote is a two button rolling code remote, paired to the OXI receiver that plugs into the control unit. We can add a Nice FLO2RE remote for every family member or driver, and remove a lost one without changing the others.
A sliding gate motor with battery backup
Power cuts in Oman summers are short but frequent. The Nice manual lists the PS124 battery, 24V and 1.2 Ah with a built in charger, which lets the Robus 600 complete manoeuvres when the mains fails. That turns the RB600 into a sliding gate motor with battery backup, so the family is not locked out or in during a cut.

Oman heat, sand and salt: the Nice severity index
The Nice manual estimates the life of the Robus between 20,000 and 250,000 cycles, depending on a severity index. Heat above 40°C, dust and sand, salinity, and manoeuvres stopped by photocells all raise it. Most sites in Oman score on several of these, so we keep the motor inside its limits, clean the rack and track at every service, and service coastal sites more often.
How we install the Nice RB600 and its Nice RBA3 control unit
- We cast a concrete base with the foundation plate, level and in line with the gate.
- We fix the motor and set the pinion 1 to 2 mm below the rack, as Nice requires, so the gate weight never rests on the motor.
- We fix the nylon rack and set the open and close limit switch brackets.
- We fit the photocells, the push button and the OXI receiver on the Nice RBA3 control unit, and pair both FLO2RE remotes.
- We run the learning cycle, set the force and the pause time, and test the photocells while the gate closes.
