Somfy Elixo 2000 230V RTS Sliding Gate Motor Oman, 2000 kg Kit

Description

The Somfy Elixo 2000 is a 230V sliding gate motor kit for gates up to 2000 kg and 20 metres long. It moves the leaf at 9 metres per minute on 750W, and it carries dedicated photocell and safety edge inputs. That makes it a serious operator for yards, compounds and commercial entrances, not a villa motor.

Two facts decide whether it suits your site. It speaks Somfy RTS only, and rack is not listed in the box. Both are explained below, ahead of the specification.

Somfy Elixo 2000 price in Oman, and what the kit includes

Price: OMR 440.000 for the kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

• Somfy Elixo 2000 230V RTS motor
• Two Somfy RTS remote controls
• Flashing light
• Photocell pair
• Push button

Not included: rack, foundation plate and mains cabling, plus a safety edge strip if your site needs one. Rack is the item most often forgotten on a sliding gate, so we quote it with the motor.

Somfy RTS remote Oman: why 433.42 MHz will not pair with BFT or Nice handsets

Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own rolling code. BFT Mitto handsets use 433.92 MHz, and Nice and Came use their own coding. Those radios cannot hear each other, whatever the handset looks like.

Moving an existing site to Somfy means issuing new handsets. The two supplied cover a small household. A compound or a staff entrance needs extra handsets, so tell us how many people use the gate.

Somfy sliding gate motor Oman: Elixo 500, 800 or 2000

The Elixo range is sized by leaf weight. Elixo 500 and Elixo 800 suit lighter villa and compound gates at a much lower price. Elixo 2000 is the heavy duty member, built for gates up to 2000 kg.

Choose by the heaviest leaf you will ever own, not today’s gate. A solid steel gate with infill panels weighs far more than it looks. Treat every published rating as a ceiling, not a target, and tell us the leaf length and weight so we can confirm the class before you order.

If you prefer a different brand at this weight, compare the BFT sliding gate motor range, which also reaches 2000 kg and beyond, or browse every Somfy sliding gate motor.

2000kg sliding gate motor Oman: what a 20 metre leaf really needs

A gate this size asks more of the site than of the motor. Rack must run the full leaf length, not the opening width. A 20 metre leaf needs 20 metres of rack, and the foundation, rail and rollers must carry the load.

• Rack cut to the leaf length, steel for this weight class
• A concrete foundation sized for 2000 kg, not a villa slab
• A straight, level rail that the leaf runs on without binding
• A supply sized for 750W, on its own protected circuit

We survey before quoting at this weight. Steel rack suits heavy gates, and our module 4 steel rack is rated to 1000 kg, so confirm the pitch Somfy specifies for this motor before you order any rack.

Somfy Elixo 2000 specification

Safety on a 2000 kg sliding gate

A leaf this heavy can injure someone badly if it closes on them. The Elixo has photocell inputs and a safety edge input, and both should be used on any gate that people or vehicles pass. The supplied photocell pair covers the opening. A safety edge covers the leading edge of the leaf.

We set the closing force and test obstacle reaction with the gate loaded and moving, never on the bench. A gate that stops on a hand check is not yet proven safe for a vehicle.

Sand, salt and heat on an Omani sliding gate

Blown sand does not hit the motor first. It packs into the rack teeth and the track, the leaf stiffens, and the operator works harder against it. Brush the track and the rack periodically, because that single habit adds years to the motor.

Coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah add salt, which corrodes rack fixings and foundation bolts. Inland at Nizwa and Duqm, summer heat pushes any mains operator toward its thermal cutout. A solid infill gate also catches wind like a sail, and that load lands on the pinion.

Somfy Elixo 2000 FAQ

Will my BFT or Nice remote work with the Somfy Elixo 2000?

No. Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own coding, so BFT, Nice and Came handsets cannot pair with it. You need Somfy RTS handsets.

What gate size suits the Somfy Elixo 2000?

Sliding gates up to 2000 kg and 20 metres long. Send us the leaf weight and length, because rack and foundation matter as much as the motor.

Is rack included with the Somfy Elixo 2000 kit?

No. The kit lists the motor, two remotes, a flashing light, a photocell pair and a push button. Rack runs the full leaf length and is quoted separately.

What is the Somfy Elixo 2000 price in Oman?

OMR 440.000 for the kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

What is the difference between Elixo 500, 800 and 2000?

Weight class. Elixo 500 and 800 suit lighter gates, and Elixo 2000 is built for gates up to 2000 kg and 20 metres.

Do you fit Somfy gate motors in Muscat and across Oman?

Yes. Our engineers fit and programme Somfy motors in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur, Salalah, Duqm and across all eleven governorates.
