U-Link wireless, what it actually removes from a BFT IGEA BT installation

A conventional installation needs cable run between the motor, the control panel, photocells and any other accessory, which on an existing driveway means cutting and reinstating paving. U-Link replaces that physical run with an encrypted wireless connection between compatible devices.

This matters most on a retrofit to an existing gate and driveway, where the alternative is breaking out finished surfacing to lay conduit. It also supports two way communication for maintenance and can scale to control multiple gates through a gateway without rewiring, useful on a compound with several access points.

U-Link only works between compatible devices, so the accessories on the same installation need to support it too, not just the motor.

IP44 suits a well positioned motor above ground level but is not a rating for standing water, so we check the mounting height on every site. Battery backup through the optional BBT BAT kit is worth adding where a power cut matters, since 24V motors like this one accept it readily.
