Somfy Ixengo L 24V RTS Swing Gate Motor Oman, 400 kg Twin Kit

Description

The Somfy Ixengo L 24V is a swing gate motor kit for double leaf gates up to 400 kg and 4 metres per leaf. It runs a 24V DC motor from a 230V mains supply, delivers 2000 N of force through a 465 mm stroke, and opens each leaf to 90 degrees. Its mounting suits posts as narrow as 80 mm.

Three points come first. It remembers only 40 remote channels, it opens no wider than 90 degrees, and the handsets speak Somfy RTS, which no BFT or Nice receiver will accept.

Somfy Ixengo L 24V price in Oman, and what the kit includes

Price: OMR 263.000 for the twin kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

• Two Somfy Ixengo L 24V RTS actuators
• Control unit with a 7 button programming interface and LCD display
• Two Somfy RTS four channel remote controls
• Warning lamp with antenna
• Photocell set
• Push button

Not included: a safety edge, hinge and bracket hardware, mains cabling and any electric lock. The listing does not state a battery backup pack, so none should be assumed.

Somfy swing gate narrow post: why the 80 mm mounting matters

Many villa gates hang from slim steel or aluminium posts, where a bulky motor bracket does not fit. The Ixengo L 24V is listed for posts as narrow as 80 mm, which opens up gates that a wider bracket cannot reach.

Width is only part of it. The post must also carry the load of a moving 400 kg leaf, so we check its wall thickness and its footing before we fit.

Somfy Ixengo 24V or 230V: which version suits your gate

The Ixengo name covers motors with different electrics and different limits. Compare them before you choose.

The 24V version costs more and gives up some memory and some sealing. In return it fits narrow posts, soft closes and publishes its stroke. If your posts are wide and you want the most remote memory, the 230V versions are better value.

465 mm stroke and a 90 degree opening: pillar depth and timing

An arm mounted motor needs clear depth from the hinge to the inside face of the pillar, so the actuator can travel through its stroke. This listing publishes the 465 mm stroke, so we can check your pillar depth against it. Send photos of both pillars with a tape across the depth.

The opening angle tops out at 90 degrees. A leaf that must fold back against a wall or clear a wide vehicle needs a wider opening, so we check before you order. Somfy states an opening time of 10 to 34 seconds depending on installation. We measure the time on your gate when we set the limits.

40 remote channels: when a compound runs out

The board remembers up to 40 channels, and each memorised button typically uses one. Two four channel handsets use up to eight. A household is comfortable. A compound where many drivers each need a handset can reach 40 quickly.

The 230V Ixengo versions remember 128. Tell us how many people use the gate and we will say whether 40 is enough. Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own rolling code, so BFT, Nice and Came handsets cannot pair with it. The same RTS system runs our Somfy sliding gate motors.

Soft closing and adjustable torque on a swing gate

The control unit offers soft closing and adjustable torque. Soft closing slows the last stretch so the leaf does not meet the post at full speed. Adjustable torque lets us set how hard the motor pushes before it reverses.

We set both with the leaf moving, never on the bench. Photocells are included, and a safety edge is worth adding where a leaf swings toward a footpath.

Somfy Ixengo L 24V vs BFT KUSTOS BT A40: choose by duty and posts

The nearest 24V swing kit we stock is the BFT KUSTOS BT A40 twin kit.

For a busy gate that needs more weight capacity, a wider opening and a rated intensive duty, the KUSTOS is the stronger choice. Choose the Ixengo for narrow posts, soft closing and the Somfy RTS handset system.

A 24V motor and the power cut question

A 24V DC motor can run from a battery pack in principle. Somfy does not state battery backup for this kit, so we confirm it with Somfy before we promise anyone that the gate opens in an outage. Until then, treat it as a mains gate, and keep the manual release where you can reach it.

IP44, wind and the Omani climate

IP44 covers splashing but not standing water, so we mount the actuators clear of pooling water. The listed range reaches plus 60°C, which suits most Omani summers. A solid sheet leaf catches wind like a sail, and that load lands on the hinges and the post. Coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah add salt, which attacks pivots first.

Somfy Ixengo L 24V FAQ

Why choose the Somfy Ixengo L 24V over a 230V Ixengo?

Choose it for posts as narrow as 80 mm, soft closing and a published 465 mm stroke. The 230V versions remember more channels and have a higher IP54 rating.

How many remotes can the Somfy Ixengo L 24V remember?

Up to 40 channels, roughly one per memorised button. The 230V versions remember 128, so a large compound should check this limit.

Will my BFT or Nice remote work with the Somfy Ixengo L 24V?

No. Somfy RTS transmits on 433.42 MHz with its own coding, so BFT, Nice and Came handsets cannot pair with it. You need Somfy RTS handsets.

How wide does the Somfy Ixengo L 24V open?

Up to 90 degrees, and the opening time ranges from 10 to 34 seconds depending on the installation. We set it on site.

What is the Somfy Ixengo L 24V price in Oman?

OMR 263.000 for the twin kit, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the gate.

Do you fit Somfy swing gate motors in Muscat and across Oman?

Yes. Our engineers fit and programme Somfy motors in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur, Salalah, Duqm and across all eleven governorates.
