Description

A mini exit button does the same job as a full size one on a narrower plate. It suits aluminium door frames and glass door mullions where a standard button will not fit. We stock the mini exit button in Oman at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat.

Mini or standard size

The electrics are identical. Both give a dry contact and both release the lock the same way. The choice is purely about the plate.

Measure the flat face you are fixing to. If it is narrower than a standard exit button plate, you need the mini.

Where a mini exit button fits

Aluminium office door frames, glass door mullions and narrow timber stiles. Muscat office fronts are full of these.

It also suits a door jamb where there is no room beside the frame. Fitting on the mullion keeps the button within reach of the handle.

Choosing a mini exit button plate

Narrow buttons run from about 28 mm wide on a strip plate up to a compact square. Measure the frame before ordering.

Stainless steel matters more at this size. A small plate takes the same daily punishment on a smaller area.

Wiring a mini exit button

The contacts work exactly as they do on the full size button. Wire NC in series for a magnetic lock, or NO to a controller input.

Nothing on the button side needs power. The smaller plate changes the fit, not the circuit.

What’s included

The button, faceplate and fixing screws. Cabling, any back box and the lock itself are separate.

Common questions

Do I have to fit one?
On any door people need to leave through, yes. Treat it as required rather than optional. Where you need to disable the release out of hours, use an exit button with key instead, but never on an escape route. A monitored door also needs one, or an alarm controller reads every exit as forced entry.

Will it fit an aluminium glass door frame?
That is the main reason to choose it. Send us the frame width and we will confirm before you order.

Do I need a back box?
Often not. Narrow buttons are usually fixed straight to the frame, which is why they suit retrofits.

Does it work the same as the standard button?
Yes. Same contacts, same wiring, same job. Only the plate is smaller.
