Somfy Dexxo Optimo RTS Garage Door Opener Oman, Intensive Domestic Use

Description

The Somfy Dexxo Optimo RTS is a garage door opener for intensive domestic use, rated by Somfy for up to 36,500 openings and closings. Its settings come pre-programmed, it is adjusted on an LCD screen, and it locks the door when the door is closed. It runs on Somfy RTS, and Somfy lists a 5 year warranty.

Two points come first. The listing does not publish the door size, the force or the kit contents, so we confirm all three before you buy. And it works with Somfy RTS only, so BFT, Nice and Came handsets will not pair with it.

Somfy Dexxo Optimo price in Oman and what is in the kit

Price: OMR 196.000, in stock at our Muscat shop. Installation is quoted separately once we have seen the door.

The listing does not state the box contents. It lists chain, belt and high performance chain as transmission options, so the rail, the remotes and the photocells may be sold apart from the motor. We tell you exactly what comes with your opener before you pay, and we price any extras beside it.

Intensive domestic use: what 36,500 openings means

Somfy rates the Dexxo Optimo RTS for intensive domestic use, up to 36,500 openings and closings. That is about ten cycles a day for ten years, or about a hundred a day for one year.

It is a rating for a family home, not for a depot or a car park. If your door runs all day, tell us before you order.

Chain, belt or high performance chain: choosing the Somfy transmission

The Dexxo Optimo RTS is offered with three kinds of rail, and each suits a different garage.

The listing does not publish a noise level or the rated life of each rail, so we do not quote either. Tell us where your garage sits in the house and how often the door runs, and we recommend a rail.

Somfy Dexxo Optimo or Pro: which garage door opener to choose

The Dexxo Optimo sits beside the Dexxo Pro 800 and the Dexxo Pro 1000 in our range. The table shows only what each listing publishes.

The Optimo costs more and publishes less, so we will not tell you it is the stronger motor. We choose by your door. Choose the Optimo for the intensive domestic rating, the LCD set up and the longer warranty. Choose the Pro 1000 for a published force and a photocell pair in the box. Ask us to compare the three for your garage.

LCD programming and pre-programmed settings

All settings come pre-programmed, and Somfy says the opener starts working in less than 90 seconds. An LCD screen then lets our engineers adjust the settings for your door, such as travel and closing behaviour. We test the stop on an obstacle and the reversing before we leave.

Burglar proof lock when the garage door is closed

Somfy lists a burglar-proof lock. When the door is closed, the opener holds it shut, so the door cannot easily be lifted by hand from outside. That is a real gain for a garage with a bedroom above, or an integral door into the house.

Somfy RTS garage door remote: what pairs with the Dexxo Optimo

The opener runs on Somfy RTS, so it pairs with Somfy RTS handsets. The listing does not say if remotes are in the box, and it does not give the remote memory. Browse the Somfy remote controls for spares, such as the Somfy Keytis 2 RTS or the Somfy Keygo 4 RTS.

BFT, Nice and Came handsets cannot pair with it, because each brand uses its own coding. Somfy io homecontrol, on 868 to 870 MHz, is a different system and does not mix with RTS.

What we need to fit a Somfy Dexxo Optimo RTS

• The height and width of the door, and its type, sectional or up and over
• The weight of the door, or its material
• A photo of the garage ceiling above the door
• How many people use the door each day
• Whether you want a chain, a belt or a high performance rail

With those details we confirm that the opener suits your door, name the kit and quote the fitting. Send them through the contact page.

Garage heat, dust and the Somfy Dexxo Optimo in Oman

An Omani garage can reach very high temperatures in summer, and sand gets everywhere. The listing publishes no temperature range or IP rating, so we treat it as an indoor opener and mount it inside the garage, away from open vents. Keep the rail and the door tracks clean, because sand wears both faster than any motor fault.
