Description

The CAME DLX30CEP (code 806TF-0080) is a pair of synchronised infrared safety photocells for outdoor surface mounting. The transmitter and receiver face each other across your gateway, and when a car, a person or a pet breaks the beam while the gate is closing, the control board stops the gate or opens it again. The range can be set from 10 to 30 metres.

It runs on 12 to 24V AC/DC, is rated IP54, and has a filter that cuts false alarms caused by the sun and the weather. It is CAME’s replacement for the older DELTA-E photocells.

All photocells do the same basic job: they stop a gate closing on whatever is in the gateway. The DLX30CEP adds four things that matter on bigger or busier sites.

Synchronised photocells: why two pairs need them

Many gates need more than one pair of photocells. A sliding gate often has one pair across the opening and a second pair guarding the space the gate slides into. A deep driveway or a wide swing gate often has one pair outside and one inside. A barrier lane may sit next to a gate with its own pair.

When ordinary infrared pairs sit close together, the beam from one can reach the receiver of another, and the gate behaves unpredictably. CAME describes the DLX30CEP as synchronised, which is designed to stop pairs fitted near each other from interfering. That makes it the better choice wherever you need two or more pairs.

30 m gate photocells: choosing the range for your opening

The range is the furthest distance between the transmitter and the receiver. The DLX30CEP can be set anywhere from 10 to 30 metres, so it suits most openings in Oman:

CAME DELTA-E replacement: upgrading old photocells

CAME lists the DLX30CEP as the replacement for its older DELTA-E photocells. If your DELTA-E pair has failed, the DLX30CEP is the CAME part to fit in its place. Our engineers check the cable and the board connection while they swap the pair, because an old cable that has cracked in the sun is often the real cause of an intermittent fault.

Which boards the DLX30CEP works with

The DLX30CEP works with CAME control boards for sliding gates, swing gates, garage doors and barriers, wired for reopening while closing or for a partial stop. It runs on 12 to 24V AC/DC, so many boards from other brands can power it too. CAME’s manual says that when the pair is not powered by a CAME board, the supply must have a current limiter of 500 mA or less. Send us a photo of your board and we check before you buy.

How we fit the DLX30CEP

• We choose the position on each pillar, inside the line of the gate, so the gate itself never breaks the beam.
• We fix the units facing each other at bumper height, and on posts where the pillars are not suitable.
• We set the range to suit the opening, not the maximum, so the beam does not reach further than it needs to.
• We run the cable to the board in conduit, out of the sun.
• We set the board for reopening while closing, and test by breaking the beam while the gate closes.
