Description

The CAME DXR20CAP (code 806TF-0030) is a pair of steerable, synchronised infrared safety photocells for outdoor use, with a range of 20 metres. Its beam can be turned up to 180 degrees from the vertical axis, so the transmitter and receiver aim at each other even when the pillars are not square to the gateway.

When a car, a person or a pet breaks the beam while the gate is closing, the control board stops the gate or opens it again. The pair runs on 12 to 24V AC/DC, filters out false alarms from the sun and the weather, and up to 8 pairs can work side by side without interference.

Steerable photocells: what the turning beam solves

Ordinary photocells must be fixed face to face. That is easy on two square pillars, and hard almost everywhere else. The DXR20CAP turns its beam instead, so the units can sit where it suits the site.

Large gates, compounds and car parks often need several pairs of photocells: across the opening, inside and outside the gate, and along the path of a sliding gate. When ordinary pairs sit close together, the beam from one can reach the receiver of another, and the gates behave unpredictably.

CAME synchronises the DXR20CAP so that up to 8 pairs work side by side without interference, with no wire needed between the transmitter and the receiver. That makes it a strong choice for a compound entrance with a gate, a pedestrian gate and a barrier in the same space.

Which boards the DXR20CAP works with

The DXR20CAP works with CAME control boards for sliding gates, swing gates, garage doors and barriers, wired for reopening while closing or for a partial stop. Its contact output can also be set so the pair acts as a control device. It runs on 12 to 24V AC/DC, so many boards from other brands can power it too. Send us a photo of your board and we check before you buy.

Photocells for angled pillars: how we fit the DXR20CAP

• We choose a face on each pillar that the gate does not cover, inside the line of the gate.
• We fix the units at bumper height, on the front or side face, or on posts where needed.
• We turn each beam until the transmitter and receiver aim straight at each other.
• We set the range to suit the opening, so the beam does not reach further than it needs to.
• We run the cable to the board in conduit, out of the sun, then test by breaking the beam while the gate closes.
