Read the name carefully. A near identical board, SHYRA AC BA 230V, fits MOOVI parking barriers, a completely different gate type. The two share a name and nothing else, and ordering the wrong one leaves you with a board that physically cannot run your gate.

DEIMOS gearboxes are mechanically simple and generally outlast the electronics. A gate that hums without moving, runs one direction only, or has stopped learning remotes is very often this board, not a worn motor. DEIMOS AC versus DEIMOS BT, which board family your gate actually needs

DEIMOS comes in two electrical families, and the board follows the family, not the model number alone. AC models run on 230V mains with no battery option and take this SHYRA AC board. BT models run 24V with battery backup capability and take a HAMAL board instead, such as our HAMAL 400 or HAMAL 600, depending on weight class.

Check the motor’s own rating plate for AC or BT before ordering a board, since a board built for one voltage will not power a motor built for the other.

8K2 safety edge input on a sliding gate

A resistive 8K2 safety edge strip, usually fitted to the leading edge of the gate, stops the motor if the gate contacts a person or an obstacle during travel. This input being confirmed on the board is the easy part. Fitting the strip correctly along the gate’s full closing edge and testing it under power, with the gate actually moving, is what makes it work as intended, and we treat that test as mandatory on every installation.

Fitting a sliding gate control board in Oman

This is a bare mains board, and mains, the operator feed, photocells and the safety edge all land on terminal blocks that must match the old wiring exactly. Coastal sites in Sohar, Sur and Salalah need the enclosure and cable gland checked against salt air over time, and inland at Nizwa and Duqm, blown dust through a poorly sealed gland is the more common cause of an intermittent fault that seems to come and go with the weather.
