A standalone RFID access control keypad — present a card, enter a PIN, or use both together, and the unit switches the lock itself with no separate controller required. Reads standard 125KHz EM proximity cards and tags. Held in stock at our Al Khuwair shop and fitted across Muscat by our own engineers.

Description

This RFID access control keypad is a standalone unit — it reads a card, accepts a PIN, or checks both together, and switches the door lock itself. Unlike a bare Wiegand reader, it does not need a separate controller for a single door. If you are already running a networked system with several doors, our multi-door controllers are the better fit — this unit is built to run a door entirely on its own.

Card, PIN, or both

Set the unit to accept a card alone for quick single-factor entry, a PIN alone if you would rather not issue cards, or require both together on a door that needs a second check. Mixing modes on the same unit lets you give staff cards while visitors use a shared PIN, all from one keypad.

How many people can use it

Units in this class typically hold in the region of 2,000 users, added and deleted from the keypad itself using a master code — no software or PC required. Losing the master code means a factory reset, so write it down somewhere other than the keypad.

What card type it reads

Reads standard 125KHz EM proximity cards and tags, the same format as our own RFID thick cards and thin cards.

Fitting it

The keypad mounts to a backplate at the door, wired to a magnetic lock or electric strike and a power supply. On a maglock door we also fit an emergency door release on the escape side, since a maglock releases on power loss but not on a jammed exit route.

Common questions

Do I need a separate controller for this?
No. This unit switches the lock itself — that is what standalone means here. A separate controller is only needed if you are networking several doors together, not for one door on its own.

Can I give some people a card and others a PIN?
Yes. Card, PIN, and card+PIN modes can all be active on the same unit at once, so different people can use whichever credential they were issued.

What happens if I forget the master programming code?
The unit needs a factory reset, which clears every stored user along with it. Keep the master code recorded somewhere safe rather than relying on memory.

Will it read the cards I already have?
If your cards are 125KHz EM-format, yes.
