Description

The CAME CGZS (code 009CGZS) is a module 4 rack for sliding gates, made of galvanised steel with a flat 30 x 8 mm section and sold in 1 m pieces. Each piece has fixing holes and comes with spacers and screws, so it bolts to the gate with no welding at all.

That makes it the steel rack to choose when the gate must not be welded: a powder coated gate, a galvanised gate, an aluminium gate, or a site where hot work is not allowed.

Bolt on gate rack: why fixing without welding matters

Welding a rack to a finished gate burns through the paint or the galvanising along every weld. On the coast, that is where rust starts. A bolted rack leaves the gate finish intact.

Order one metre more than your gate opening, rounded up to the next whole metre, so the rack stays on the pinion at both ends.

Which gate rack to choose: the four CAME racks compared

Gate rack without welding: how we fit the CGZS

• We fix the motor base level and in line with the gate.
• We hold the first piece on the pinion with the gate closed and mark the holes.
• We drill the gate and fix the rack with the screws, using the spacers to hold it off the gate at the right height.
• We join each new piece so the teeth keep the same spacing across the joint, using a short offcut to line them up.
• We set a small gap between the rack and the pinion along the whole length, so the gate weight never rests on the motor.
• We seal every drilled hole in the gate against rust.

Because the rack is bolted, we can adjust its height later if the gate drops on worn wheels, without cutting or welding.
