Description

This access control keypad is the S601EM-W, a metal-bodied, IP68 waterproof standalone unit from S4A Industrial. Present a card, enter a PIN, or use both together, and it switches the connected lock itself — no separate controller required for a single door. If you’re networking several doors instead, our door controllers are the better fit.

RFID access control, built for a door that’s actually outside

IP68 means sealed against sustained water contact, not a splash rating — this can sit on an exposed gate pillar through the wet season with no canopy or housing. Combined with an operating range of −45°C to +60°C, it’s built for both ends of Oman’s climate. If your door is sheltered or indoor instead, our plastic access control keypad does the same job for less.

2,000 users, card and PIN together if you need it

Holds up to 2,000 card users and 2,000 password users, added and removed from the keypad itself. Set it to card-only, PIN-only, or require both together on a door that needs a second check — useful where staff carry cards but visitors use a shared PIN instead.

What it reads

This version reads 125KHz EM cards, the same format as our own RFID cards. A Mifare-reading version of the same body exists as a separate model — tell us before ordering if your site already issues Mifare cards.

Fitting it

Connects directly to a magnetic lock or electric strike, with a built-in doorbell interface and Wiegand output if you want to add it to a larger system later. On a maglock door we also fit an emergency door release on the escape side.

Common questions

Do I need a separate controller?
No. This is a standalone unit and switches the lock itself. A controller is only needed if you’re networking several doors together.

Can this be mounted with no shelter at all?
Yes — IP68 means it’s built for sustained rain and dust exposure, not just a splash.

What’s the difference between this and your other access control keypad?
This one is metal-bodied and IP68 rated for genuine outdoor use. Our plastic keypad suits a sheltered or indoor door at a lower price.
