The Somfy TaHoma Switch controls Somfy RTS devices from an app. A device that carries this receiver can be added to the hub, so you can run it from your phone. RTS is a one way radio, so the app can send the command but cannot confirm that the gate has moved.

Do you need a Somfy RTS receiver for a garage door?

If your garage opener is a Somfy RTS model, it already has a receiver, and you need only a handset. If your opener is another brand and you want Somfy handsets or the TaHoma hub, a receiver may let you add them, provided the opener has a suitable input. We confirm before we sell it.

The receiver connects to a supply and to the input of a control board that sits near mains parts. A wrong connection can damage the receiver or the board, and it can leave the gate behaving oddly. Our engineers wire the receiver, pair your handsets and test the gate through a full cycle. The unit is 80 by 80 by 45 mm, so it needs a small, dry spot out of direct sun.

Heat, dust and where to mount a Somfy RTS receiver in Oman
